Not just healthcare, but also includes gender equality, population issues, life ethics, etc.看護学研究科 博士後期課程助産学研究者コース 看護学専攻Stella E． Mushy高校時代、病気の祖父母の看病がきっかけで「患者さんを救いたい」と強く思うようになり、医療の道へ。看護師を志し、専門分野に選んだのは「助産」でした。臨床現場では、母親たちが赤ちゃんとともに笑顔で退院することを何よりも大切に考えていました。その後、ウガンダで修士号を取得。2年ほど前から、本学の博士課程で学び始めました。現在は、若い母親たちのリプロダクティブ・ヘルス※について研究しています。本学には多様な背景を持った講師陣が在籍し、留学生にとって理想的な学びの環境が整っています。将来は私自身も優れたメンターとなり、若い母親たちが自分の夢を叶えられるよう、声を上げ続けていきたいです。I decided to go into medicine during high school when my grandparents became seriously sick, with a passion for saving patients. I chose the path of a nurse with a specialty in midwifery. In practice, I promised myself that every mother would leave healthy and smiling with her newborn. Afterwards, I got my master’s degree in Uganda. About 2 years ago, I began studying at this university’s doctoral course. Currently, I am researching sexual and reproductive health* in adolescent mothers. Students here can learn from teachers of all kinds of backgrounds and the environment is ideal for international students. In the future, I want to be a good mentor committed to satisfying student needs while acting as a voice for adolescent mothers to ensure they too fulfill their future dreams.Becoming a skilled mentor supporting the dreams of mothers – Stella E. Mushy健康に生き生きと働ける環境を支えたいGraduate School of Nursing Science Master’s Program – Saki Oyamada看護学研究科 博士前期課程上級実践コース 公衆衛生看護学専攻小山田 早希入学前は脳卒中看護に携わっていました。患者さんの多くが生活習慣病を抱えていましたが、脳卒中の発症に「まさか自分が」という想いがあるように感じていました。そのため、発症予防に関わりたいと思うようになり、保健師の取得を目指したのです。疾病予防に関わりたいという漠然とした思いで保健師を目指しはじめましたが、保健師のなかでもさまざまな場所で活躍するプロフェッショナルの方の話を聞く機会や授業での事例検討の機会を通して、保健師の役割や目指す道が見えてきました。将来的には、従業員のみなさんが健康に働き、働くことで人生が豊かになるようなサポートをする産業保健の道に進みたいと考えています。Before enrolling at St. Luke’s, I worked in stroke nursing. While many patients had lifestyle disease, I felt as though many patients who had a stroke never expected it to happen to them. Because of that, I became interested in onset prevention and decided to become a public health nurse. At first, I wanted to become a public health nurse with the vague idea of wanting to work in disease prevention. However, through opportunities to listen to stories from public health nursing professionals working in various places and class case studies, my role as a public health nurse and the path I wanted to take started to become visible.
