聖路加国際大学には長年の公衆衛生活動と教育の実績があります。設立当初から現在に至るまで、常に公衆衛生的な視点から周囲の環境の変化、社会のニーズを敏感に捉え、よりよい医療・看護を提供するために先進的な教育・研究を実施してきました。これからの医療従事者には少子高齢社会の急速な進行と疾病構造の変化、医療データの活用、増大する医療費、新興・再興感染症などの解決に対応することが求められています。本学の公衆衛生大学院は、グローバルな視点を持って、集団としての健康を考えることができる、国際的に活躍する高度専門職人材を養成します。米国公衆衛生教育協議会が推奨する基準に照らしたカリキュラム編成で、授業は原則英語で行い、附属施設である聖路加国際病院の豊富な臨床・健診データを活用した実践的プログラムを提供します。また、2019年度より新たに博士後期課程（Doctor of Public Health）を開設しました。最新の疫学・統計技術を用いて公衆衛生に関するデータ分析の手法を学修し、実践的な疫学・統計研究ができるグローバルリーダーを養成します。公衆衛生大学院では、社会における人間の健康と幸福とは何かを考える幅広い視野を持った医療人を育成します。St. Luke’s International University has a long history of public health activities and educational achievements in the field. Since its establishment to the present day, progressive educational and research activities have been conducted to produce superior medical and nursing human resources who are solidly grounded in public health viewpoints taking changes in our surroundings into consideration and who are sensitively aware of the needs of society.It is expected of healthcare professionals to be fully acquainted with demographics, including the rapidly progressing aging of society, falling birthrate, and changes in pathogens and disease structures, to be able to use and apply healthcare data, to respond to issues like escalating medical expenses, and to find solutions to newly emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. Faculty and facilities at St. Luke’s International University Graduate School of Public Health are all geared to nurture highly specialized human resources with global perspectives who can apply healthcare principles to group dynamics, and who can actively contribute to international operations.Our curriculum is set in reference to the recommendations of the Council on Education for Public Health(CEPH) in the USA, all lectures are conducted through English medium in principle, while the huge clinical and other healthcare data sources of the affiliated St. Luke’s International Hospital are available for our practical programs.In AY 2019, we also established a Doctor of Public Health course.
