「知と感性と愛のアート」は、聖路加国際大学校舎竣工の際日野原重明学長（当時）が礎石に刻んだ建学の精神を示す言葉。「日本の看護の水準を高めること」という志のもと1920年にルドルフ・B・トイスラーが聖路加国際大学を創立して100年、聖路加はいくつもの時代を乗り越え、常に必要とされる看護をリードしてきました。2014年には、聖路加国際病院との法人一体化を成し遂げ、新たなステージを歩んでいます。教育・研究・実践の融合を実現させた最高水準の学びの場へ―。2020年、聖路加国際大学は看護教育100周年を迎えました。“The art of knowledge, understanding and love” is an expression coined by Dr Shigeaki Hinohara, president of St. Luke’s International University at the time of the inauguration of the new university building, to describe the substance of nursing, and inscribed at the entrance of the building.This university, which was founded by Dr. Rudolf B. Teusler in 1920 with the motivation to “improve the standard of nursing in Japan,” has prevailed through various periods during the course of these 100 years as a leader in the essential art of nursing. Since the incorporation with St. Luke’s International Hospital in 2014, the university has entered a new stage.
