TOMIZAWA Maki, Graduated MPH Program in AY 2020

St. Luke’s GSPH fully supports those who wish to maintain balancing study with family matters.

Balancing study with family matters may not be always easy. But I believe that the GSPH fully supports those who wish to do so. In fact, there are many students who are in a similar situation in this regard. All faculty are very approachable and always willing to support each student. Scheduling and including whom you need to obtain support from is the most important tip from my experience. About myself, after finding out about my pregnancy, I decided to take as many credits as I could in the first year. I also scheduled to do an internship in that year. These decisions were taken to allow myself to focus on the Capstone Project and child-bearing in the next year. In the second year, I spend the time with my son in the daytime, and studied in the night after I put him asleep. Of course, I couldn’t achieve without my husband’s help. He became a wonderful dad and great cook! Voice what you want to achieve and plan how you can get there. St. Luke’s GSPH is the perfect place for your successful school life.
