Faculty and Research

The mission of the undergraduate English program at St. Luke's is to support and encourage future nurses and nursing leaders, educators, and researchers in improving both their nursing English skills (including communication with patients as well as academic reading, writing, and presentation skills) and their general English proficiency (including vocabulary knowledge acquisition as well as extensive input and output exposure in the 4 skills).
At the graduate level, innovative research and scholarly publications are vital components of a globally competitive graduate program. These involve rigorous research and good scientific writing and presentation skills. The goal of the graduate English program is to develop highly skilled and knowledgeable academic writers with excellent critical thinking, scientific writing, scholarly publishing, and presentation skills.
