In the 21st century, the Earth faces a range of problems such as climate change, natural disasters, and emerging infectious diseases that threaten the stability of the entire planet. The health of the earth is the health of the entire planet and the ecosystems that support human health, and thinking about the health of the earth means thinking about the health of the human beings and societies that are part of and depend upon this system. Therefore planetary health is an interdisciplinary field focused on analyzing and addressing the impacts of human disruptions to earth’s natural systems on human health and all life on earth.

In this Open Campus, we will use real-world examples to show how public health relates to different sectors of society and discuss how public health can contribute to planetary health. The symposium is open to all interested parties, including those considering enrollment in the school. You are also welcome to attend only the part I. We look forward to seeing you there.
