Job Descriptions (Research Support Staff: Medical Information Management and/or Pharmacy)
We are looking for a dedicated research support staff to support our AI-based patient safety informatics project. We consider potential candidates who are interested in health informatics research and are willing to contribute to the development of the 21th century healthcare to the society. The research staff will work closely with our faculty member and collaborators to achieve research activities under supervision.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- To review drug safety related documents
- To retrieve incident information from various sources (including incident reports)
- To annotate adverse drug events incidents into hierarchical structure
- To liaison research activities with collaborators and internal departments
- Qualifications:
We are looking for a part time (2-3 days a week) Japanese support staff (bachelor or master level) who has strong medical information coding and/or pharmacy and/ or patient safety background (preferably graduated from Medical Informatics/ Information Science/ Pharmacy or other relevant disciplines or qualified equivalent as 診療情報管理士). The candidate should have experience in clinical information management and has good interpersonal skills (including documents review and attending meetings with collaborators).
The candidate should be proficient in both Japanese and English report writing and feel comfortable to work in English speaking environment. - Duration:
start day to March 2019 (potentially renewable)
- Remarks:
Work frequency, time and mode may be flexible and are subject to negotiation
- Stipend:
Between 1,100 JPY per hour to 1.400 JPY per hour will be considered.

Job Descriptions (Programmer: Deep Learning and Named Entity Recognitions)
We are looking for a dedicated programmer to support our AI-based patient safety informatics project. We consider potential candidates, who are interested in health informatics research and are willing to contribute to the development of the 21th century healthcare to the society. The research staff will work closely with our faculty member and collaborators to achieve research activities under supervision.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- To collect related data from internet
- To develop deep learning models’ performance on text classification and entity tagging
- To evaluate deep learning models’ performance and compare with state-of-the-art model settings
- To support the development of a name entity recognition platform for pilot use
- Qualifications:
We are looking for a part time (2-3 days a week) programmer (bachelor or master level) who has strong artificial intelligence, mathematics, and statistics background (preferably graduated from Mathematics/ Computer Science / Statistics / Informatics / Engineering or other relevant disciplines) and has excellent programming experience (including Python and C++ and /or R). Experiences in deep learning models, natural language processing, and/or name entity recognition modelling are preferable.
The candidate should be able to work under tight project schedule.
