2023年度入学式 歓迎の挨拶 公衆衛生学研究科長(2023年4月1日)
公衆衛生学研究科長 西 信雄
On behalf of the Graduate School of Public Health faculty members and support staff, I’d like to give a warm welcome and congratulations to all new students of the 2023 class and their family members. I am NISHI Nobuo, the Dean of the Graduate School of Public Health. I am so pleased to see you all in person.
During the past three years, we have faced unprecedented challenges-the COVID-19 pandemic, environmental crisis, and global tension by the superpowers to name just a few. We have recognized that what happens in one part of the world affects all of us, no matter where we live. Moreover, public health has become more significant than ever across the world. In other words, public health is global health.
Our School of Public Health has entered the seventh year since its foundation in 2017. All faculty and staff would like to grow together with our students by learning from each other.
You are now entering a new stage of your life. So, please make your new history of your life here. I would like you to share your experiences, ideas, and values with concerted effort to make a difference in the world. We are committed to contribute to the health and well being of individuals, communities, and the planet.
Congratulations again to all of you from the bottom of my heart. I wish you all the best as you begin your academic life at St. Luke’s. We all welcome you to the wonderful world of public health at St. Luke’s.
Thank you very much.
